Eirik Ravn

Eirik Ravn was born in Tromsø, 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, where the sun does not rise for sixty-one days each winter. He has described the polar night as “the most productive environment on Earth. No distractions. No sunsets. Just work.”

At sixteen, he built Fjordr, a sleep app that quietly became the world’s largest collection of human dreams. At eighteen, he enrolled at university in Trondheim and left three weeks later, citing “a fundamental disagreement with the concept of semesters.” At nineteen, he sold Fjordr for $2.1 billion.

In the winter of 2029, during the polar night, he founded Dystopian Technologies Inc. with a single conviction: the future is inevitable, so someone might as well own it. He is 31. He lives and works on Campus One, 12.1 nautical miles off the Norwegian coast.
